Harmony Hill is a remarkable place of Healing that embraces the idea that Healing does not mean the absence of disease. Healing is the experience of a joy-filled open Heart & Spirit. Harmony Hill offers 3 day, 2 night retreats for those living with cancer and their companions, families with parents with cancer and those living with the grief of losing a loved one to cancer. And the Blessing for those who are on these difficult paths... The retreats are offered at no cost to the participants!
Harmony Hill staff, faculty and volunteers all come together to create and support a deeply nurturing experience for participants. Long-term friendships are formed. Once you walk into the warm embrace of The Hill... You are and remain family. The grounds, gardens & views are stunningly beautiful and enhance healing. Most buildings are Green-built providing a low allergen environment. The Heart-full kitchen staff create delicious nourishing meals that can be adapted to any diet. Ingredients are from the Harmony Hill gardens and other local organic growers as much as possible. Accommodations are provided for most levels of disability. Harmony Hill staff will help you determine if a retreat is right for you. Each retreat has volunteer healthcare providers in attendance who offer loving presence, support and basic first-aid. So who is 'The Traveler'? The view across Hood Canal (The Salish Sea) is to The Olympic Mountains. Each spring as the snow melts away, for a few weeks an image appears. It is of a hooded Traveler with a walking stick in hand. Depending on your choice of perspective, The Traveler is either walking into or out-of the mountain. The native tribes of the area honored it as a place of transition. The door between worlds. Harmony Hill has one of the best views of The Traveler. And it too is a place of transition. We can not make your cancer go away or to never have happened. We can not make your Beloved breathe again. But we can inspire you to shift perspective. It is your choice... Walk into or out-of the mountain. We are here to help you on that journey. (Thanks to Victrina for the beautiful photo of The Traveler) Please share this information with anyone you may know that could benefit from these retreats. For complete list of retreat dates or to register, visit the Harmony Hill Website. I can be changed by what happens to me.
